Policies and Guidelines

Welcome to my music studio. I will work hard to provide the best learning environment possible to help each student to learn and grow as a musician. This includes correct technique, sight-reading, ear-training, theory and performance. The following guidelines are here to help the teacher, student and parents understand each other's role and ensure success in this musical adventure.

Practice Requirements: To get the most out of your lessons, you must practice 10 to 30 minutes at home each day. Five days a week. Students will come to class with a ready-to-learn mindset. Bring all books, papers, and instruments. This will lead to success in learning music.

Schedule and Tuition

Students can expect to meet with their teacher 4 times a month on a set day and time each week.  Tuition is a flat rate. Holidays and missed lessons do not change the lesson price. Tuition does not cover books that might be needed. However, I do provide most paper music and exercises.  Lessons are approximately 30 minutes long.

Payments

One month (4) lessons for one student costs  120.00 dollars

Payment for lessons can be in cash or Venmo  My Venmo handle is;  @Chad_Toews

Absences

Please let me know as soon as possible when there will be an absence. No refunds will be given if a student misses lessons.  If I have another opening in my schedule that week, I will offer it to you.  With enough notice, I might be able to arrange a temporary trade with another student.  I do not have time set aside for make-up lessons, so I cannot guarantee a makeup lesson. I apologize.

If your child is too sick to attend school, please do not bring them to lessons.  Contact me as soon as you know that they will be missing. Thank you.

Media Release

Pictures and videos will be taken at different events.  If you do not want you or your child’s image posted online, please let me know.  I do not post videos of students without parent’s permission.

Vacations

I take the following time off each year. This does not affect tuition.

2 Weeks of Christmas  ,  The Week of Thanksgiving  , The Week of Easter

I do not take Monday Holidays off, for example Memorial Day or Labor Day.

I take June and July off

I also might have to cancel lessons due to sickness or emergency. Thank you for your understanding.

Best Practices

Students should always arrive on time with their books and assignment sheets.  Please do not bring food or drink into the studio. You can also text me from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday Thru Friday.  Please always be on time when arriving and picking up students. Thank you. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend a student’s lesson as long as it does not disrupt the lesson.

Conclusion

Thank you for taking the time to read this policy.  If you have concerns or need clarification, please feel free to contact me.  With open and honest communication, we will ensure the success of you or your child’s musical development.
